We're reducing emissions and improving our fuel efficiency. We've made a promise to cut down emissions down 50% by 2050. That means eliminating 21 million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere.
Our Plan
50 percent emissions reduction by 2050
United airlines has improved its fuel efficiency 40% since 1990. It has done so by making significant investment in modern, fuel efficient technology and through the operational and procedural changes such as weight reduction, single-engine taxiing, and auxilery power unit savings.

At United, we report our carbon emissions, local air quality, waste management, water and energy consumption and more every year.
